Update on News/Media
My weekly updates on surprising or interesting things I read or watch or the news are listed below.
June 3rd, 2019- I watch the news mostly every morning. I put the news on in the living room and in passing I will stop, drink some coffee, and watch a few minutes of it. This morning I saw that there was a practice active shooter drill in the Natick Mall for awareness and for protection. I thought that was a good idea (as sad as that sounds). The world we live in now has law enforcement taking extra precaution that will help the public in emergency situations like this scenario. I'd rather law enforcement run through a drill/practice run a couple times for an event like this than only studying about active shooters.

June 8th- I picked an article in regards to the ethics behind celebrities promoting products for pay and attention. I thought the point made against Khloe Kardashian is reasonable. How can someone who promotes a healthy workout and eating habits promote a negative diet supplement? My friends said she may a good experience with it doesn’t mean she can’t sponsor them while others do not think someone in her position should mislead her audience to buy a product that may or may not be heathy. What do you think? Is it ethical for someone like her who is a workout enthusiast and Heath queen supports a product like this?

Chapters 6&7 made me think of how Youtube has evolved into YoutubeTv. Whoever within Google, owner of Youtube, came up with a clever way to gain more customers by providing affordable cable. This article below goes into detail about how the entertainment industry has changed.
